I wanna hide out behind a destroyed wall in a ruined mental institution as the swastika-bearing Nazis kill my comrades, I wanna throw a molotov through a window and gun down the survivors who haven't already burned to death, I wanna feel like what I'm doing matters. I don't want to mow down legions of iron-cross bearing idiots while my squadmates crack stupid jokes for hours. I'm typically not the kind of person to complain about "ahistorical bullshit" in games (because that's usually just a racist/sexist dogwhistle) but the brutality of WaW is really what made the campaign special in my opinion. WaW on the other hand actually showed swastikas, war crimes, and everything else that characterizes world war 2 in its full brutality. WW2 was just watered down war movie bullshit. Really wish WW2 would have done the same as WaW.
